New Covers

Some new covers that I found recently. . .

Karen Hawkins shared her upcoming covers this past week.  How to Pursue a Princess (love that title!) is book two in her Duchess Diaries series and will be out May 21st.  Love the pretty background colors.

And before that she has a novella coming out!  Princess in Disguise, which has my attention based on the title alone, will be out February 25th.  I am so glad that the publishers are taking the time to make nice covers even for their novellas.  This one is nice and sexy and I love the staircase.

What the Duke Desires kicks off a new series for Sabrina Jeffries!  I got behind on her last series but I really enjoyed what I read so I'm looking forward to this one.  I love seeing corsets on covers :)  Look for this June 18th.

A new Tessa Dare cover!  A new Tessa Dare cover!  Love it!  So, so excited for Any Duchess Will Do :)  It's purplish-pink and pretty and lovely and I love the little sparkle on the bottom of her dress.  And I love that there is a step back!!  So sad to see hardly any books with these anymore!  Sob, why can't it be May 28th yet?

I saw this one up on Goodreads.  Love it!  Her dress is such a pretty color and I love that she is blowing a kiss.  A new Julia Quinn is always a treat so The Sum of All Kisses will be picked up on June 25th.

A Little Night Mischief looks to a a debut set for release June 4th.  It's a kind of nice to see the male wearing a shirt for a change and I love the background detail.  This features a heroine determined to keep her estate after it is gambled away by disguising herself as a ghost...which the hero does not fall for.  I will be keeping my eye out on this one.

Ooh, pretty pretty!  And Then Comes Marriage is book two in Celeste Bradley's new series, starting at the end of this month.  I have yet to read anything by her but heard good things about the first book so I am going to give her a try and hopefully be picking up this one July 30th.

Well, there you go!  Lots of great covers again.  Any new titles caught your eye?

How to Capture a Countess by Karen Hawkins

This was my first time reading Karen Hawkins and it will not be my last!  This was a fun, sexy battle of wills between Rose and Lord Sinclair, aptly nicknamed Sin.  Six years ago, the alluring Rose seduced Sin with her plain appearance but sparkling eyes and just as they are enjoying a very heated kiss, she pushes him into the fountain and the whole party quickly sees everything.  And instead of properly apologizing, Rose's nerves get the best of her and she laughs....and everyone else quickly follows leading Sin to be the bearer of many 'Lord Fin' jokes in the years to follow and it does not help matters that Rose just up and disappeared and he has been unable to locate her all these years.  Yet, he suddenly becomes aware of her identity by his aunt...who just happens to be Rose's godmother and the Duchess of Roxburghe knows it is time for this couple to re-meet and overcome their past.  What follows is a delightful series of one-upmanships between Rose and Sin, as neither as the ability to back down from a challenge.  But when one bet goes to far and forces Rose to flee again, will Sin see the truth of his heart, that is so obvious to everyone else?

It was so much fun watching the plain, awkward Rose bloom into herself, full of confidence, independence, laughter, curiosity and a bit of stubbornness.  She is the perfect foil to Sin with his roguish, controlled reputation and his need to be the best of everything.  Together, their battle of wills, from archery to horse racing, leads to quite a few fun moments!  I loved their first meeting after the incident...lets just say, library ladders will never be the same :)  The secondary characters, including a pack of pugs, also add their own humor and prove to be worthy opponents in Sin's battle to get Rose alone and seduce her.  I was a bit hesitant in the beginning as I do not really like when the hero sets out to seduce the heroine and that is it but Rose proves to be smarter than Sin anticipates and their relationship develops at a pace I really enjoyed as a result.  Overall, a fun, feisty battle of wills!  I can't wait for the next two stories featuring Rose's sisters!  4 stars

Happy Release Day!!

Here are a few titles that are being released today!  Enjoy!

One Naughty Night (The Scandalous St. Claires, #1)Lady Alexandra's Excellent Adventure

I think I will be picking up all of these in some form or another.  If the Slipper Fits is the start of a new series and since I love anything Cinderella, I'm looking forward to it.  The Taming of a Scottish Princess is the conclusion to Karen Hawkins Hurst Amulet series, a series I need to get caught up on!  I know Carla Kelly has many fans and are eagerly awaiting a new regency book from her.  I have not read a lot from her by Marriage of Mercy sounds good!  One Naughty Night is the start of a new series from Laurel McKee and one I am also looking forward too.  And finally is Lady Alexandra's Excellent Adventure, the start of a new series from Sophie Barnes and a book I would recommend!  So, hope there is a book or two out for you to enjoy today!  Lots of good ones next week as well :)

New Covers

Some new covers this week. . .

Guess what?  I love this cover :)  It seems all the pretty purple covers lately have been stunning and A Breath of Scandal: The Reckless Brides is no exception.  This is book two in Elizabeth Essex's The Reckless Brides series and will be out Dec 26th and it will be on my Christmas list!

Next up are the two new covers for Jillian Stone's The Gentleman of Scotland Yard series.  I really enjoyed her debut so I am looking forward to more of this men!  I really enjoy these covers too, they seem very fitting with the books.  Look for A Dangerous Liaison with Detective Lewis Aug 28th and A Private Duel with Agent Gunn (with, if I'm not mistaken, Paul Marron on the cover!) November 27th.

Well, I have yet to read anything by Karen Hawkins (though I have picked up quite a few of her books!) but I am liking the Cinderella-esque theme of this cover.  It looks to be the start of a new series, The Duchess Diaries, so I may have to finally read Ms Hawkins with this one.  Look for How to Capture a Countess in September.

Grace Burrowes shared this lovely cover in her newsletter last month but I see it online as well now so it must be ok to share :)  I love the whole series of covers she has had!  They are elegant and pretty and sexy at the same time.  The pop of read is perfect for the holidays!  Lady Louisa's Christmas Knight (The Duke's Daughters, #3) will be out October 1st.

And finally here is the awesome cover for the next book by Tracey Devlyn.  I love the purple (of course) and you can tell she has no problem being in charge with that pistol in her grip. Checkmate, My Lord looks to be full of adventure and I look forward to its release in February 2013.

So, which covers caught your attention?  Any you added to your wish list?

New Covers

Just a few new covers this week :)

Maya Banks just posted this cover to her Facebook page yesterday and I can not wait to read it!!  The only highlander books I have read was her previous series and I loved them so I am so happy she is writing another series which kicks off with Never Seduce a Scot in late September.  The next Scottish book then doesn't come out until Feb of next year!  Boo!  No back to back releases this time :(  But I love the cover :)

Oh, pretty teal! The Taming of a Scottish Princess is book four in Karen Hawkins Hurst Amulet series and I believe is the final book.  I have yet to read anything by Ms Hawkins but I have heard good things about this series so I hope to get to it soon.  I love how the cover model has glasses!

This cover came out right after my last cover post and it fits in perfectly with the first book in the Smythe-Smith Quartet series.  I am hoping the pop of the pink shoe factors into the story as the red show from the previous book did.  The midnight blue is very pretty and mysterious as well.  Look for A Night Like This May 29th.

Another lovely cover for book three in Liz Carlyle's Fraternitas trilogy.  The white is very serene but I really like the pop of green as the backdrop. The Bride Wore Pearls is out July 31st.

And finally here is an early glimpse of the upcoming Loving Lady Marcia (Aug 28th).  Kieran Kramer has not officially shown her cover so it may be tweaked a bit.  (Last time she had a pink cover they changed it to green so I think the pink will stay this time.)  It is the start of a new series from her titled 'The House of Brady' and I love the little quote "Everyone loves Marcia, Marcia, Marcia" LOL  Looking forward to a blurb about this book as Ms Kramer writes some wonderful, light hearted humorous stories.

Well, thats all I noticed while out and about cyber land this week.  Any great new covers catch your eye this week?
