And the Miss Ran Away with the Rake by Elizabeth Boyle

I love when a title fits a book perfectly and that is just the case with the newest from Elizabeth Boyle.  Daphne Dale answered an advertisement in a newspaper on a whim and it has grown into so much more and she is determined to meet the mysterious Mr. Dishforth.  When they agree through their corresponding to meet at her friends betrothal ball, she is elated to meet the man she has fallen for yet one look at Lord Henry Seldon, sworn adversaries of the Dale's, leaves her confused.  She thinks Henry is the same man yet can not be sure and the family feud leaves her even more indecisive.  Henry, for his part, can not fathom falling in love with a Dale yet he also can not deny the attraction between himself and Daphne and he too questions if she is his mysterious Miss Spooner.  A house party, a rainstorm and a lot of determination during an attempt to run away add up to a fun romance.

While I really enjoyed this Regency take on You've Got Mail, I didn't love it and I really can not pinpoint why.  I wish we had seen a bit more of Daphne and Henry's relationship grow through the letters instead of just a chapter or two about it but at the same time they had to meet face to face to have that connection.  I loved the instant attraction that they both tried so hard to deny, especially after they found out who they were in relation to the family feud.  As to the family feud, the reason behind it was a bit silly and I do wish it had been something a bit more dramatic so it added a bit more to the storyline.  Daphne and Henry make a cute, fun couple and are ones you just can't help but cheer on.  I really enjoyed the ending and how Daphne took matters into her own hands (finally) and thought it was very well done.  Overall, a fun, light hearted, witty romance that will leave a smile on your face.  3 1/2 stars

New Covers

New covers shared recently. . .

Amelia Grey shared the cover for the final title in her Rogues' Dynasty series, The Rogue Steals a Bride.  I have yet to read anything by her buy have picked up quite a few of her titles.  Lovely cover.  Look for this one July 2013.

I love the title and cover for Elizabeth Boyle's next release, And the Miss Ran Away With the Rake!  The cover is very eye catching and I am very excited for its March 26th release!  This will be book two in the Rhymes with Love series.

Jane Ashford is a new to me author but it looks like she wrote books in the 80s-90s and then took a break and is back with Once Again a Bride.  It has a lovely cover as well and I downloaded it for review so I am anxious to read it!  Look for its release February 5th.

Jennifer Ashley is releasing a novella in her popular MacKenzie series!  She is self publishing The Perfect Gift sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas!  Can't wait!!  Nice cover as well :)

And one more holiday treat that I found when I stopped by Courtney Milans website!!  A novella she had no intention of writing but the character didn't let go.  Look for A Kiss for Midwinter in December.  Very excited for this one as well and the cover is perfect for a holiday novella!

Another batch of books I want now, lol!  Hope everyone is doing well and my thoughts and prayers with anyone affected by Hurricane Sandy and hopefully I can be on a bit more soon once real life work slows down :)  Any of these books being added to your list to read?

A Gentleman Undone (Blackshear Family, #2)Unexpected PleasuresA Little More Scandal (The Christies, #1.5)

It looks like a good release day to me!  I love the cover on Along Came a Duke and since it is the start of a new series and I have yet to read anything by Elizabeth Boyle, I will be picking this one up!  I was lucky enough to read an ARC of A Night Like This and it is sure to please Julia Quinn fans!  Winter Garden is a reissue with a new cover.  Even though I didn't love Cecilia Grant's debut, I am still going to read A Gentleman Undone and hope I like this one a bit more.  Unexpected Pleasures is a new one from Mary Wine.  And finally, an ebook novella from Carrie Lofty, A Little More Scandal (for only 99 cents!).

Hope there is something that catches your reading taste this week!  Next week we see new releases from Samantha Grace, Jayne Fresina, Sally Mackenzie, Cheryl Ann Smith, and Donna MacMeans.

New Covers

Here are some new covers that were mentioned online recently.

Rules of Engagement: The Reasons for Marriage\The Wedding Party\Unlaced features, I think, two new stories and one reprint (the Laurens one).  I'm not positive about that but Delilah Marvelle  does have some info on her website and it releases April 17th.  Looking forward to her story :)  And I love the teal of this cover!

The Scarlet Bride is book three in Cheryl Ann Smith's School  for Brides series and I think this is a very unique cover.  Obliviously, the red dress seems appropriate based on the title but I really like the background shot of a city.  Something different :)  This one comes out in June.

Elizabeth Boyle is on my to read soon list and I think I will be starting with Along Came A Duke!  Such a pretty cover (done by the ever talented Jon Paul Studios as I remember him posting this cover art to facebook).  And the synopsis sounds good as well!  Look for it June as well.

And finally, Karen Ramsey revealed her upcoming cover and stepback through her email/blog subscription.  Very nice and Scottish and the stepback is super sexy.  Look for A Scandalous Scot  June 26th.

Any of these covers grab your attention?  Any new cover goodies out there that I have not seen yet?
